• Becoming a great parent takes time, and lots of practice! You can learn a lot from being around other good parents – watching to see how they solve problems, help their children behave better and get the family into routines that work. Dropping in to our free early learning centres is one way we help you keep growing one step ahead of your kids.

  • Another way is to sign up to take one of our Parent Education classes. We have lots of them for mothers or fathers of kids at all stages infancy, toddlerhood and preschoolers. The classes are given right in the drop-in centres but not during regular drop-in hours. The class has the place to themselves. And you won’t have to get a babysitter! Bring your child along. Some Parent Ed classes are participatory – for both you and your child together. For others you’ll step into the Parent Ed Room and our professional staff will play with your children while you’re in your class.

  • Our Parent Ed classes aren’t just about discipline! We’ve got lots of different topics like Esso Family Math, the Wings of Discovery Science program, nutrition or Parent-Child Mother Goose.

  • All our Parent Education programs are free. We are funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services (Province of Ontario), United Way for the City of Kawartha Lakes, CAPC/CPNP programs of the Government of Canada and private donations.

  • Can’t wait to keep learning more parenting skills? Here’s a Parent Education course you can take on-line, and it’s free. (NOT AVAILABLE YET)
